Inside the Church
Lanes Church, like every church, needs a committed group of volunteers to keep things moving smoothly in fulfilling our mission. There are places for everyone to follow (or find) their passion and make a difference in a broad range of ways to serve within Lanes Church – From music (See Music Page), to greeting guests, to serving in the nursery and youth Bible studies, to working in the sound booth. We’ll help everyone find where they belong!
Outside the Church
Serving at and with Stilson Elementary School

Stilson Elementary School is the center of our community, so we at Lanes Church are committed to serving them (Teachers, staff, bus drivers, parents and especially the children) and showing them the love of Jesus every chance we get. From simple treats and encouraging notes monthly to let the teachers, staff and bus drivers know we love and appreciate them, to serving the families at the annual Thanksgiving family lunch and PTO Jolly Jamboree, participating with other local churches in donating backpacks and school supplies at the beginning of a school year and providing a number of weekly bags of prepackaged food for the Backpack Buddies program. We’ve also been known to provide a Cinco De Mayo lunch, pressure wash playground equipment, and build a chicken coop.
Stilson Community Food Bank
The food bank is located at and managed by Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church, 9566 Mud Road in the Stilson Community. Lanes Church and Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church also provide support and assistance. On the last Saturday of each month from 8 AM to 10 AM there is a non-perishable food distribution to those needing help. (No signup needed, just show up – please help us get the word out in the community)
The Visiting Servants
We’ve started this ministry to expand the number of folks who are visiting those who don’t or can’t get out and about very much. Rather than mainly the Pastor being the visitor, as often is the case in churches, we want to bring others into the mix and have small groups visiting, and possibly being able to have activities as a group during the visits. We’re looking for others to join in, and also contribute ideas of how to minister.
Medical Equipment Loaners
We’ve accumulated some medical and other helpful equipment for the purpose of loaning it out to those in the community who need it. It includes canes and walkers, wheel chairs and usually a power lift chair or two. Loan outs can become gifts in many cases. If you know of a need, get in touch and we’ll help if we can.
