At Lanes Church, we love music! The main focus, of course, is music during the worship services, but we seem to find a lot of other opportunities to sing and play.
Music and Worship
The Lanes Church music and worship team is made up of volunteers who joyously share their talents each Sunday to proclaim the glory of Jesus Christ and assist the congregation in their worship of Him. Our musical style can be called blended, as we consider combinations of instruments and voices that can wonderfully express the praise of God, the joy of our salvation and the wonder of His love.
Musicians and non-musicians alike can be involved in the music and worship team. Feel free to talk with Music Director Wade McElveen about how you can join in.
Traditional hymns accompanied by a piano and at times a guitar
Contemporary congregational songs
led by a band with various instruments in different combinations – Instrumentalists and vocalists welcome.
Lanes Church Choir
An adult mixed choir that sings modern songs written and arranged for choral music. Some experience with choral singing and a limited ability to read music is helpful but not required.
They usually sing on Sunday mornings once or twice a month, and typically have a musical program at Easter and Christmas.
Audio/Visual Team
These volunteers work behind the scenes to make our Sunday morning services seen and heard. Sound, lights, projection and livestreaming are wonderful areas for musicians and non-musicians to be involved. If you have no background in this, we are happy to train you!
Music at Other Times and Places
Come join us in activities like having a fish fry and bringing a few friends in to make a bluegrass band for some pickin’ and grinnin’, or perhaps singing a little Johnny Cash. Or gathering up a few carloads to go around the community singing Christmas Carols to the folks who don’t get out much. Or come to a Fifth Sunday Night Community Sing, where several local churches get together and raise the rafters singing to the Lord and encouraging each other.
